I think recent contacts is actually a cool idea in theory. Adding everyone who emails you to your contacts allows you just to start typing in their names or email addresses and have the email address fill in. No need to add them in manually. The problem, as you've observed, is that you don't necessarily want every spammer's email address or someone's internal only email address for another company that won't work for you in your email contacts.

Since this feature was added, IBM has added some features to allow you to better manage these settings. Unfortunately, most of them aren't managable with polices yet. Have the annoyed user open their contacts, then select more > preferences > do not automatically add > recent contacts.

There are also some features coming in 8.5.3 to allow the user more ways to manage this.

There are also some Notes.ini settings that control what type of addresses get added to recent contacts. For example, you can stop Domino directory addresses from being added, or specific internet domains.

<dc:subject>Have your Lotus Notes calendar display multiple time zones</dc:subject>

I agree it is a nice feature.

But why not really multiple entries? It is only possible to add a second time zone - "multiple". Sorry to say, but this is not a complete solution.

People travelling a lot do so not only between two time zones - therefore this feature is not a real help.

I would suggest really multiple entries, or as requested a lot in our company, different calendar views that have a certain base time. So for frequent travellers, who are this week in Europe, next week in India and the week after in the US could easy switch between those calendars.

Then OK on the confirmation and you're on your way without ever leaving your document.

Greeting, BigBearFreddy

PS: Keep up to good work with these Tips in Two, my customers like them a lot.

<dc:subject>How to Create a Clickable Link in An Email</dc:subject>

Hi,

There's a slightly simpler way to accomplish this;

In stead of cutting the text after selecting and pasting into the Create Hyperlink dialog, go strait to the Create Hyperlink dialog after selecting the text. You selected text will be there...

This save's you a Cut action and a Paste action.

So the complete process might be, starting from your browser:

Select the URL - Copy

Goto to Notes

Select text - Create - Hyperlink

Paste the URL - OK

Greetings,

BigBearFreddy
